Dave and Sandra Coates

Dave Coates from Darlington, England, has been stunt riding professionally for more than 10 years now. Regularly performing at shows in the UK and Europe he has also provided the ontrack tunt shows for high profile events such as the British Car GP at Silverstone. Riding the R1, FZ1, YFZ 450 quad and the WR 450 Supermoto, all supplied to him direct from Yamaha UK. The R1 is standard and the only alterations which have been made are , a set of moto-cross handle bars fitted and a grab rail at the back to hold on to when Ski-ing off the back of the bike.
Dave currently holds the world record for riding backwards on the bike at a speed of 151.7m.p.h. He also did a run of 138.2mph with his delightful wife Sandra facing backwards too. Dave will be aiming to attempt other world records this year.
The Dave Coates Stunt Show has been featured on various BBC news programmes, 5th Gear (11th June 2007!), local TV programmes and local radio. There have been articles in The Sun, Daily Star and Mirror newspapers and also a full page feature in The Sunday post. Regular features on Satellite programmes such as Men & Motors, Eurosport etc. The Show even spent a day filming for a German prime time TV Programme.
